Our Story
With a lot of care and dedication a handful of volunteers are giving food, fresh water and if needed medication to the many streetcats in the villages and cities in Portugal. Every day, morning and evening, 365 days a year.
The cats are either abandoned (because the owners moved or just didn’t want them anymore) or have been born on the street. As much as possible is being done to keep the cat population under control, but this is quite difficult as you need to catch them first to bring them to the vet.
Moreover prices for castration/sterilisation are quite high. Unfortunately little or no help is being given by the municipality, so the volunteers are paying most of the costs out of their own pocket.
